Privacy Policy

Our commitment to your privacy

STIEEN – the Union of Workers in the Electric Power Industry of Niterói respects the privacy of everyone who visits this website and of everyone who contacts the Union. This Policy explains, in simple terms, which personal data we collect, what we use it for, where it is stored and how you can exercise your rights, in compliance with the Brazilian General Data Protection Law (Law No. 13,709/2018 – LGPD).

In short: we collect only what is necessary to assist you and keep the website secure. No personal data is sold, rented or used for commercial purposes. That is not the Union's purpose.

Who is responsible for the data

The party responsible for processing the data is STIEEN, headquartered at Rua Visconde de Itaboraí, 213, Centro, ZIP code 24030-090, Niterói – RJ. For any privacy-related matter, contact us at contato@stieen.org.br or via WhatsApp at (21) 98463-2976.

What data we collect and why

1. Worker registration (Join Us page)

When you fill in the Membership Application, we collect: full name, CPF, RG, date of birth, gender (optional), place of birth and nationality; one or more phone numbers (indicating WhatsApp, where applicable), e-mails and addresses (ZIP code, street, number, complement, neighborhood, city and state); education (optional), type of professional activity and, for those with an employment relationship, company, job role and hire date; the payment method for the union contribution; how you got to know STIEEN; the reasons for joining and your expectations (optional). We also record the date and time of submission, the date and time you accepted the Authorization Statement and the IP address of your device, for security purposes. Membership is allowed only to persons over 18 years of age.

This data is used exclusively for the Union's board to review your application, contact you and, if the application is approved, complete your membership and collect the union contribution. It is stored in the website's database, with access restricted to authorized users of the administrative panel. For each new application, the administration receives an e-mail notice with name, phone, e-mail and company.

2. Contact Us

When you send a message, you provide your name, e-mail, phone (optional), subject and the text of the message. This data is sent by e-mail to the Union's institutional mailbox and used only to reply to you. It is not stored in the website's database; it remains in the Union's mailbox.

3. Reporting Channel

A report is anonymous by default: the form asks only for the category and the account of events, and does not collect name, phone or e-mail. If, of your own will, you choose the option to identify yourself, we give the Union your name and, if you wish, your phone number. The report is sent by e-mail to the Union's institutional mailbox and used only to look into the case. It is not stored in the website's database, and the IP address of the sender is not included in the message.

4. Likes and comments on news

Each news item can be liked (heart button). So that each person is counted only once and can undo their own like, the website stores in your browser a random anonymous identifier (cookie "stieen_v", valid for 1 year), which contains no name or any other data about you. In the database we keep this identifier and an irreversible code generated from the IP address, which does not allow the original IP to be discovered.

Comments appear only when the Union enables this feature. Those who comment provide a name and the text of the comment and tick their agreement with this Policy. We also keep the date and time and the irreversible IP code. Every comment is moderated by the administration before being published, comments with links are not accepted, and the published name and text are visible to all visitors of the website. You may ask for your comment to be removed at any time.

5. Banners and highlights on the home page

When there are banners (commercial, partnership or informational) on the home page, we count how many times each one was displayed and clicked, in order to report to the Union and its partners. This count is anonymous: we use an irreversible code generated from the IP address and the browser, which serves only to tell different visitors apart, without identifying anyone, and is kept for up to 400 days. Daily totals are kept without this code. STIEEN does not hand over to partners any personal data of those who saw or clicked the banners; the partner receives only the numbers. When you click, you are taken to another website, which has its own privacy policy.

6. Access to the administrative panel

For the Union's authorized users who manage the website, we keep name, e-mail and password (the password is stored in encrypted form, and never in readable text). The panel also logs the actions performed, with date, time, user and IP address, to ensure the security and traceability of changes.

7. Website security

To block bots, spam and break-in attempts, the website temporarily records the IP address and the number of login and form submission attempts. These records serve the sole purpose of protection.

8. Browsing preferences

The website stores in your own browser, without sending it to anyone, your language choices (for up to 1 year), light or dark theme, text size, reduced motion and your acceptance of the cookie notice. If you like or comment on a news item, the anonymous cookie described in item 4 is also stored. Those who log in to the panel also receive a session cookie, which expires on logout.

Cookies and third-party tools

This website loads the measurement tools below only after you click Accept on the cookie notice. If you do not accept, they are not loaded.

These companies belong to Google and Meta and may process browsing data, such as IP address and device identifiers, on servers outside Brazil, according to each one's privacy policies. To withdraw your consent at any time, delete the website's data (cookies and local storage) in your browser settings: the cookie notice will appear again on your next visit and you will be able to choose again.

Other services used on the website

Who we share data with

We do not sell, rent or share personal data for commercial or advertising purposes. Sharing happens only with providers essential to the operation of the website, such as the hosting and e-mail company, and with the measurement tools described above, when you accept cookies. We may also provide data when there is a legal obligation or an order from a competent authority.

Legal basis

We process your data on the basis of your consent, which you give by ticking the agreement option on the forms and by accepting cookies, and of the Union's legitimate interest in keeping the website secure. You may withdraw your consent at any time.

How long we keep the data

We keep data only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this Policy, or for the period required by law. Registrations, comments and messages may be deleted at any time at the request of the data subject. Anonymous per-visitor banner data is deleted after 400 days.

Your rights

Under the LGPD, you may at any time request:

To exercise any of these rights, send an e-mail to contato@stieen.org.br stating your name and what you wish to request. We will reply as soon as possible.

Security

We adopt technical measures to protect data, such as a secure connection (HTTPS), encrypted passwords, a limit on access attempts and restriction of the panel to authorized users.

Changes to this Policy

This Policy may be updated whenever the website gains new features that process personal data. The version in force is always the one published on this page.
